OUR PAWSOME SITTERS

LAURA CASTILLO
Founder & CEO
Laura's journey started at home, surrounded by her six cats and two dogs. One of them was her beloved Chow, Leona, who had lifelong health issues that required constant support. Caring for Leona opened Laura’s eyes to the emotional and practical commitment it takes to look after animals as individuals, and sparked the passion that would shape her career. Originally from Spain, Laura relocated to the North West of England to follow her calling. While balancing a hospitality management role, she qualified as Level 3 Canine Hydrotherapist and became an advanced pet first aider, and later on started her BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. Her long-term dream is to open a multi-species rehabilitation centre where animals receive high-quality care without the burden of excessive cost. Through Pawsome Kingdoms, Laura leads a small team trained in animal welfare legislation, health and safety, and species-specific care. Each pet care plan is tailored to the individual pet, respecting their routines, comforts, and behaviours. Laura also believes in supporting the people behind the pets. Pawsome Kingdoms offers free Meet and Greets with no obligation to book, and a 24-hour customer service line for anyone who needs advice, reassurance, or just a friendly chat while they’re away. She knows how important it is to build trust, and she never rushes that process. At home, Laura lives with her three forever-kittens, Miko, Beanie, and Nova. They continue to inspire her commitment to care that is thoughtful, responsive, and deeply respectful of each animal’s unique personality. To Laura, this work is about more than pet sitting, it’s about creating a safe space for pets and their people to feel fully supported, every step of the way, just like she did with Leona.
MATT
Matt is a lifelong animal lover who’s proudly transitioned from being a dedicated “Dog Dad” to embracing life as a fully-fledged “Cat Dad.” His journey into the world of pet care began with Tia, his beloved chocolate Labrador who battled multiple allergies, and deepened with Leona, Laura’s much-loved Chow Chow, who required daily medication and mobility support. These early experiences sparked Matt’s genuine interest in animal health, behaviour, and emotional well-being. Matt welcomed Miko into his home to keep Leona company, and what started as one pet quickly became a family of three, with the addition of two more cats: Bean and Nova. With his background as a financial analyst, Matt brings organisation and calm to the day-to-day operations of Pawsome Kingdoms, often supporting Laura with bookings, logistics, and client care behind the scenes. Outside of his professional role, Matt is an advanced pet first aider with a clean DBS, and is always learning more about animal psychology. He takes a special interest in separation anxiety and reactivity, aiming to better understand the ‘why’ behind pets’ unique behaviours. Whether he’s lending a hand on a home visit or enjoying a quiet evening with his feline trio, his approach to care is thoughtful, attentive, and grounded in real-life experience. Matt’s calm presence, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals make him a valued part of the Pawsome Kingdoms team. He understands just how important it is for pet owners to feel safe and supported, and he’s here to help make that happen.

CAM
Cam has had a natural affinity with animals since childhood, famously engaging his cats in epic games of chase with a simple toy mouse. His deep understanding of animal behaviour and instincts has earned him the nickname “animal whisperer” among those who know him. Cam’s ability to read subtle cues and respond with patience and calmness makes him exceptionally skilled at building trust and rapport with pets of all kinds. Although Cam officially joined the Pawsome Kingdoms team in August 2024, Laura has known and trusted him for many years. This long-standing relationship reflects her confidence in his dedication, reliability, and genuine care for every animal he meets. Cam’s experience extends to working with pets facing behavioural challenges. He has a rescue dog named Andy, who initially struggled with reactivity. Over the years, Cam has worked patiently and consistently with Andy to manage and improve these behaviours, gaining valuable hands-on experience in supporting anxious and reactive dogs. This personal journey has deepened Cam’s empathy and skill in creating calm, safe environments for all pets in his care. In addition to his hands-on experience, Cam is an advanced pet first aider and holds a clear DBS certificate, ensuring he meets the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Whether caring for a playful kitten, a senior dog needing gentle support, or pets with complex behavioural needs, Cam’s calm energy and intuitive approach consistently help animals feel comfortable, secure, and valued.
EVE
Eve is a dedicated student veterinary nurse with a deeply inspiring story of compassion and perseverance. Years ago, she adopted Lily, a dog she found in a fragile state at a building site in Africa. Lily had lost strength in her hind limbs after giving birth to puppies, most of whom were tragically lost. Despite these hardships, Eve and Lily formed an immediate and unbreakable bond. Through Eve’s unwavering patience and care, Lily gradually regained her strength and mobility, embarking on a new life filled with adventure walks and joyful moments surrounded by a loving family. Eve’s passion for animal care extends beyond her personal experience. She has volunteered at a hydrotherapy clinic, supporting animals through rehabilitation sessions, and has gained valuable insight by shadowing veterinary professionals in a zoo setting, assisting with health checks and behavioural monitoring. Currently, Eve works at a veterinary practice in the South of Manchester while pursuing her Veterinary Nursing qualifications. Her availability varies according to her academic commitments and veterinary shifts. In addition, she holds a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, is an advanced pet first aider, and holds a clear DBS certificate. Eve’s compassion, hands-on experience, and commitment to learning make her a valued member of the Pawsome Kingdoms team, bringing empathy and professional skill to every pet she cares for.

ERIN
Erin is currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing, driven by her ambition to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and work in an emergency hospital, helping as many animals as possible. Her hands-on experience includes working on farms, where she assisted with lambing, feeding routines, vaccinations, and medication administration. Erin is comfortable handling large animals, having regularly moved them from stalls to fields, and has learned skills such as nail clipping, sheep shearing, and grooming. In addition to her farm experience, Erin has supported veterinary surgeons and nurses during surgeries and consultations. She has also assisted with the care of inpatient animals, adhering closely to the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and relevant DEFRA Codes of Practice, demonstrating her commitment to high standards of animal care and welfare. Despite her young age, Erin’s professionalism is admirable. Before welcoming her sweet pup Bessy, Erin cared for two hamsters, giving her an understanding of the unique needs of small pets as well. Known for her positive energy and eagerness to learn, Erin continually develops her skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care. Outside of her professional pursuits, Erin is family-oriented and a passionate music enthusiast who enjoys spending her free time with Bessy, attending concerts and festivals with friends and family.
